mystery penny

this morning i noticed a penny sitting on the windowsill outside the kitchen window of my third-story apartment. how did it get there? it's a mystery.

it was lying heads up, so i figured it was a good-luck mystery penny. when i opened the window and picked it up, i saw that not only was it a regular good-luck mystery penny, but it was FROM THE YEAR I WAS BORN. spooky! (that makes it extra-good-luck, for those of you unfamiliar with how these things work.)

i like the way this day has started. mystery penny appears from the sky to tell me things are gonna be okay.
